The Botany program at Humboldt State University provides one of the most diverse and broad trainings across the botanical subdisciplines of any university in the country. Hands-on work with vascular plants, bryophytes, lichens, fungi, and algae provides fundamental experiential training for students at the organismal level. Our botanical collections are the best in the entire CSU system. We are a hub for top-notch botany education and research in the middle of nature.

Our plant collections are the best in the CSU, and facilities like the Dennis K. Walker Greenhouse and Vascular Plant Herbarium allow students to experiment during their studies.
