Heidi Rutschow Ph.D.

Lecturer - Biology

Originally from Modesto, CA, I'm a plant molecular and cellular biologist and Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences at Humboldt. I teach the Genetics, Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology undergraduate courses, and graduate seminars in Plant Molecular Development. I received my Bachelor of Science in Genetics from the University of California, Davis and Ph.D. in Plant Biology/Biochemistry from Cornell University. My postdoctoral training in plant hormone transport and plasmodesmata regulation was at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I spent one year as a Visiting Assistant Professor teaching Ecology, Evolution and Diversity and Plant Physiology at Colgate University in Hamilton, NY before coming to Humboldt in 2016.
